Hello, festival enthusiasts!
Frontier Day 2023 was an absolute blast, and we can't thank each and every one of you enough for making it an unforgettable experience. So, here's a heartfelt shoutout to all the sponsors, vendors, performers, and attendees who made this event truly remarkable.
A big shoutout to Kelsey Lisenbey and her sister-in-law, Emily Lisenbey, for their fantastic performance at the Frontier Day parade, singing the National Anthem with such angelic voices that truly embodied the spirit of freedom.
The Kids Corral was a true paradise for our little festival-goers. The duck pond, balloon darts, bouncy houses, bean bag toss, pumpkin patch, and more kept the children entertained and delighted throughout the day. Seeing those smiles and hearing their laughter made it all worthwhile.
Our entertainment vendors brought the
heat with an adrenaline-pumping obstacle course and a bucking mechanical bull. It was an absolute thrill to watch folks conquer these challenges and cheer them on. The excitement in the air was evident!
Speaking of entertainment, let's talk contests.
First up, a big shout out to Mr. Miller and Evie Zack, who've been crowned as Mr. and Ms. Frontier Day.
But that ain't all, Grayson Tippy is our Little Mr. Frontier Day, and Bella Johnson takes the crown as our Little Miss Frontier Day. They've all got bragging rights for at least a year! Thank you to all who participated.
Now, on to the log-sawing contest. Once again, we want to thank everyone who participated. In the men's division, 1st place goes to Colton H. Sr. and Colton H. Jr. with a lightning-fast time of 1 minute and 37 seconds! But it was a close call with John David Green and Moose Parker, snagging 2nd place with just one extra second on the clock. In the women's division, our champions are Lisa Brooks and Amanda Horn, clocking in at 2 minutes and 54 seconds, and in the co-ed division, Trey Hardman and Amanda Horn teamed up for victory in 1 minute and 56 seconds.
Our food trucks dished out mouthwatering catfish, chicken, shrimp, and burgers that had everyone’s taste buds dancing. And for those who needed a sweet fix, the lemonade stand and soft serve ice cream truck were there to save the day. Nothing says summer like a cold, refreshing treat!
The Yates Band and Ron Wayn serenaded us with their incredible talents. Their music had everyone grooving, and it was truly a highlight of the festival. We appreciate them sharing their musical gifts with us!
From homemade baked and freeze-dried goods to homemade crafts and artisan vendors, there was something for everyone. It was a treasure trove of one-of-a-kind flavors and finds.
And let's not forget our incredible volunteers. Their tireless efforts and smiling faces made the festival run like a well-oiled machine. Their dedication to our community shines brightly.
To the Yell County Record, Dardanelle Dispatch, and our generous sponsors, thank you for your support and donations. You helped us spread the word and believed in our vision. We are so thankful for your partnership.
And finally, thank you to all the members of the Plainview Arkansas Community Events organization for your tireless efforts in putting together this incredible event! Your dedication to our community is truly commendable, and Frontier Day could not have been a reality without you.
Our wonderful community turned out in full force, with so much positivity and support that it was overwhelming. We heard nothing but good things about the festival, and that warms our hearts more than you can imagine.
Frontier Day was a testament to the strength of our community. Everyone came together, celebrated, and created memories that will last a lifetime.
As we wrap up, we can't help but feel a rush of excitement for the future. We can't wait to see what the future holds and to continue planning more exciting events for our fantastic community.
