The excitement of Frontier Days just keeps building, and this year’s concert lineup is sure to bring plenty of heart, energy, and hometown pride to Plainview!
Kicking off the music on Friday night, the City of Plainview proudly sponsors Joey Richardson, a local musician from Belleville, Arkansas. Joey’s story is one of resilience, faith, and purpose. “I’m a Christian singer-songwriter who discovered my passion for music five years ago after a life-changing calling from the Lord,” Joey shares. In 2016, he faced a major challenge when he became disabled, but through that season of hardship he discovered new strength—physically, mentally, and spiritually. His journey has even led him to compete in mountain races, each step powered by endurance and faith. Now, Joey brings that same passion to the stage, using music to uplift, inspire, and connect with others. Along with Joey’s performance, Friday evening will also feature the City of Plainview handing out glow sticks for the Starlight Stampede Glow Run 5K and the Masonic Lodge hosting their chili dinner fundraiser, making it a full night of fun, food, and community spirit.
On Saturday night at 6 PM, get ready for the return of the hometown band we all know and love—Hill Street Blues! This talented group will bring the crowd to life with a mix of beloved classics, new hits, and an unforgettable variety of styles: blues, classic rock, southern rock, country old and new, powerful 80’s ballads, and even contemporary Christian tunes. Year after year, they remind us why music is at the heart of community.
Hill Street Blues will also be drawing the winners of our three raffles: two beautiful quilt raffles (with proceeds supporting local charities) and the hog-and-freezer combo raffle (benefiting PACE so that we can continue bringing bigger and better Frontier Days each year). You do not have to be present to win.
This year, you can expect to see the familiar, beautiful faces that you know and have grown to cherish! Kelly Hill’s powerful voice has never been stronger, pouring love and emotion into every word she sings. On piano, Martha Burks continues to inspire with her effortless talent and her generous heart for mentoring new musicians. With lead guitar in hand, Dave Waterson brings his signature style—able to play anything he hears and always adding his own flair. Holding down the groove is the legendary Jasper George, affectionately known as the Birta Mayor, whose long musical journey speaks for itself. And of course, our very own Chief of Police, Rick Padgett, who swaps his badge for drumsticks, proving that his energy behind the kit is every bit as memorable as his leadership in uniform.
But no band story is complete without remembering their dear friend and sound man, Kenneth Hill. Kenneth wasn’t just the one adjusting levels—he was the steady presence who made every performance shine. His laughter, his care, and his love for music were woven into every show. Though he is deeply missed, we know he’s still with us, cheering from above with the best seat in the house. This year, every song Hill Street Blues plays is a tribute to him. From the hearts of his band members: “This one’s for you, Kenneth!” ❤
We invite everyone to join us in honoring Kenneth’s memory during the concert, celebrating not only the music he helped bring to life but the love he shared with this community. With their deep roots in the community and decades of giving back through music, Hill Street Blues promises a night filled with dancing, singing, and memories you’ll carry long after the final note.
Frontier Days is all about celebrating together, and what better way than through the joy of live music? Friday night will lift your spirits with the heartfelt inspiration of Joey Richardson, and Saturday night will bring the energy and hometown pride with Hill Street Blues. Each night offers something special, and together they make for a weekend you won’t want to miss. So grab your family, bring your friends, and join us for two unforgettable evenings of music under the Plainview sky.
